Reminder: The cause of death from the initial 8/18/77 Nichopoulos-signed death certificate is, in general, similar to the cause of death on the death certificate signed and filed by Dr. Francisco, in that both point to a cardiac death. There are three immediate causes listed by Nichopoulos, but only one listed by Francisco. There is one contributory condition listed on each document, but they are not the same.

Francisco left out THREE of the findings that Nichopoulos included in the document he prepared. So, again, while each doctor pointed towards heart disease as the primary cause, the specific findings and wording are very different. If you didn’t already know the death certificates were for the same person, you might assume they were for different people.

The Francisco death certificate is the document that should be released by the State of Tennessee in August 2027. The Nichopoulos document was pulled by Francisco before it was filed.
