Not doing a deep-dive here, just again going over several important points.

First, by all medical evidence, Elvis had been dead for more that 3 hours at the time his body was discovered at 2:20pm. Every medical professional involved in this case at the time agrees that he had been dead for a significant period of time. A nurse present during the resuscitation efforts referred to the body as a “corpse.” That term would not be used for a patient who has just expired.

There is an exception, though. Dr. Nichopoulos had said that while his medical training told him that Elvis had been dead for a long time when Ginger found him on the bathroom floor, he still held out some hope that Elvis could be revived. But, is this true? Dr. Nichopoulos may have said this to placate the fans, but his medical training would have actually told him something in no uncertain terms: this man had been dead 3-5 hours by the time he was found. Dr. Nichopoulos knew this wasn’t a matter of “hoping for a miracle,” and that there was no possibility of resuscitation.

Dr. Nichopoulos also offered up for the fans’ consideration the absolute ludicrous claim that the heart monitor at one point registered several heartbeats. Nichopoulos knew that even if there were some reason the heart monitor showed these blips that there was some other, perhaps electrical or mechanical, reason for the electronic signals indicating the faint signs of life. He knew this, but he still suggested there may have been a heartbeat. Why?

The lead physician on the resuscitation team stated to me: “There was never any EKG evidence of cardiac activity.”

Why did Dr. Nichopoulos suggest that Elvis could possibly have been resuscitated, and why did he suggest that blips on a heart monitor suggested life? He knew both implications were 100% false.
